June 6th, 2012 Feed My Starving Children

Picture
Kaleigh had a huge heart and loved to volunteer at FMSC.  So with the help of the wonderful hard working people in the picture, we helped FMSC prepare over 22,000 meals!!!  That is enough meals to feed over 60 children for an entire year.  Pretty amazing.  The staff had only planned on 10,000 meals that evening so needless to say we kept them very, very busy.  They also said there have only been a few other times when they had prepared as many meals on a Wednesday night, again pretty amazing.

We have become much more aware of signs indicating that Kaleigh is still with us, the rainbow above is one of those signs.  Just as we were all gathering, a fast moving storm passed through leaving behind a beautiful rainbow.  Kaleigh loved rainbows and we often tell the story of boating on the river one evening chasing down the end of the rainbow as it seemed like it was on the water right in front of us.  Thank you Kaleigh for letting us know you where there with us.

Many thanks to all who were able to attend and special thanks to Terri Greener for organizing this event in honor of Kaleigh's birthday and Craig Orthmann for this great picture.

May 2012 - T.E.A.M. Kaleigh Scholarships

In May we awarded six very deserving ISD196 High School seniors each with a $1,000 scholarship on behalf of T.E.A.M. Kaleigh.  The students had to meet a variety of criteria and also write a short essay on how one or more of the "T.E.A.M." traits has impacted their life.  We received many great applications and were very challenged in having to narrow it down to only six.  We are confident all the recipients will be very successful in their choice of careers and continue to display the trait(s) they wrote about in there essay's.

November 20, 2011 - One year

Picture
One year after Kaleigh's passing, many of the students came together on a cold and bitter day to share a few stories and memories of Kaleigh while gathered around the memorial stone that was purchased from the proceeds of the T-shirt sales.  Today the memorial stone is part of a beautiful memorial garden.

May 3rd, 2011 - First birthday in Heaven

We celebrated Kaleigh's 14th birthday or first birthday in Heaven with TEAM Kaleigh and launched hundreds of balloons as a remembrance and celebration of Kaleigh's life.  It was a very meaningful event and here are a few pictures and a video from the party.

Thank you for your continued support of our family and this foundation.
